Corporate Press is the first PUR binding provider in Hong Kong. PUR is the strongest, most flexible binding adhesive available on the market today. It is a hot melt adhesive manufactured with polyurethene reactive material (PUR). As the adhesive product dries a natural chemical reaction occurs after the glue is exposed to moisture in the air. The results of the chemical reaction create a superior bond within the fibres of the paper giving the product a greater pull and flex strength.
PUR allows us to bind manuals, coffee-table books, top-class publications and annual reports as well as difficult products, such as highly coated paper stocks or products that would be exposed to extreme temperature ranges. Books bound by PUR will not fail at extreme temperatures of more than 200°F or 40°F below freezing.
PUR is chosen over standard hot melt adhesives for many reasons, the most important of which are its superior adhesion and the ability of a PUR-bound book to lie flat when open. This ability to lie flat when open allows for hands-free reading.
